unfurl blossoms at the intersection of a specific digital fabrication technique - laser cut living hinge scoring - and biomimetic design based on the form of a squash flower, 3D modeled in rhino from images taken of a particularly vigorous (and delicious) volunteer acorn squash growing in my garden in the fall of ‘23. after offering sustenance through the winter, I decided to pay homage to its delicate unfurling form that attracts pollinators and the human eye alike.
